For those of you who attended the March performance of the Drama Club, you may have noticed a new element or two. The producer and directors looked at the plays and themes being considered and thought that adding a “dance” element just might fit the bill.
Robson Ranch Drama Club member Linda Westin belongs to a small group of tap dancers at Robson Ranch, so she was approached to consider adding a tap element to the show. Linda engaged fellow tappers CJ Palecek, Sandra Stolnacke, and Tammi Brown, and the rest is history.
The tappers opened the show with a short rendition of “Anything Goes,” a famous song and dance number from a musical play of the same name. The surprised audience immediately became engaged and enthusiastically whooped and whistled along with the music and gave the dancers a standing ovation.
So, watch for new plays and skits, new elements, and (maybe) more tapping. The next performance is on Sunday, Oct. 26. If you have any questions, please reach out to President Mary Ornberg at mornberg124@gmail.com.
