Susan and Fred Henderson were the gracious hosts for the April gathering of the Tuesday Tasters. The theme for this month was South American wines in reference to Susan and Fred’s recent return from there.
Three wines were brought to share and Susan and Fred stepped in and provided the fourth wine along with yummy cheesecake bites for dessert. Other members of the group provided delicious appetizers.
Hands down the winning wine selected was a Kirkland 2012 Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. It comes from the heart of Argentina’s most important and acclaimed wine region. Mendoza Province, known as the land of sun and wine, is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. This high-altitude region extends from 2,000 to over 5,000 feet above sea level, a place where orchards and vineyards line quiet country roads. This wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Kirkland Malbec is an elegant and expressive wine with a charming balance of fruit and oak, exposing the true varietals character. Contributing this winning wine were the hosts, Susan and Fred Henderson. They have a well-stocked and tasty wine rack!
Til next month, good sippin’.
