On the afternoon of Aug. 17, 26 members of the Robson Ranch African American Social Group (AASG) got together at The Brass Tap restaurant in Cross Roads, Texas, to celebrate the second quarter of birthdays for those members who had birthdays in May through August. A big thank you to Renee Smith for distributing the invitations and reminders and helping to organize the gathering. The food and service at the restaurant was good, and the music, provided by a DJ, was even better. The group enjoyed a delicious cake and mini Nothing Bundt cakes. A great surprise was an impromptu karaoke duet by Bob Bailey and Tiffany Ramzy who sang the 1968 Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell duet “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing.”

These birthday gatherings are open to all AASG members, and the group looks forward to seeing everyone at the next birthday party for those whose birthdays fall in September through December. The date, time, and location of the next birthday bash is yet to be determined.
