The Art of Aging, Point Lobos, Urban Development, Girls Upstairs and a Hare, Circle Stress, Family Ties, Reflections at Water’s Edge, Bathing in the Creek, Awaiting Instructions. What do these phrases have in common? They are just a handful of the names from over 30 paintings recently on display at the Robson clubhouse lobby.
In a celebration of creativity and artistic diversity, the Paint & Palette Club held a successful art exhibit and reception that left Robson residents something to appreciate. The exhibit demonstrated the club’s commitment to promoting and celebrating the various forms of art. The creativity in names matched the creativity of the artists!
It was the “Artists’ Choice” exhibit, and it lived up to its name by showcasing an impressive variety of artistic styles, mediums, and subjects. From traditional oil paintings to contemporary art, abstract to realism, watercolors to acrylic, colored pencils to tissue paper and mixed media, the Paint & Palette Club exhibited a stunning display of work that captured the artists’ imaginations.
The Paint & Palette Club meets every Monday in the CATC building, Indian Paintbrush Room 103. Members pay $10 a year and work on their own personal art, as well as collaborating with other members. Everyone is invited to join, whether you are an experienced artist, a professional artist, or just trying it out in retirement! On most third Mondays of the month, various members offer a workshop or demonstration on their expertise so others can learn from them or try something new.
