The Wildhorse Lady Niners (WLN) extends appreciation to our outgoing board members: Janie Farnsworth, president; Jane Thompson, vice president; Barb Holst, secretary and parliamentarian. Not only are Jane Thompson and Janie Farnsworth former executive board members, they are the founders of the WLN!
Eleven years ago, these two ladies had the brilliant idea to start an organized nine-hole playgroup for 32 very interested gals. They formed the Wildhorse Lady Niner club. Through trial and error, a lot of hard work, passion, tenacity, volunteer participation, and dedication, the WLN emerged into the successful organization it is today. Current membership is 152 golfers—and growing!
For the first time in 11 years, Jane and Janie have stepped out of the ‘working’ mode into strictly a ‘golfer’ mode. The WLN has been their baby. Now that it is moving into adulthood, they have decided it’s time to retire. They have done an excellent job getting this organization to where it is today and the WLN members are extremely grateful to these founding members!
