Dennis Brooks, Vice President, Drone Club
Because the drone camera averages the light across the screen to set the exposure, it is difficult to take photos of the moon and get more than a bright white disk. I put a neutral density (ND) 16 filter on the front of the camera and manually set the exposure value (EV) to minus three. The ND filter is like putting sunglasses on the camera, reducing the light taken in. This was at 5 in the morning, with the moon low in the sky, colored by water vapor and smog, with low, thin clouds crossing in front of the moon.
