Democratic Club Cheers: 2026, We’re Ready!

RR Democratic Club’s 2026 kickoff social

Vicki Baker

The Democratic Party holds an optimistic outlook for the 2026 elections with significant potential to regain control of elected offices from the marquee races to the down-ballot contests. In 2025 Democrats secured key victories in off-year races in Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Georgia, Mississippi, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. We didn’t just rebound, we dominated.

Raising a glass to toast the incoming new year and to applaud these victories, the RR Democratic Club’s TGIF social kicked off our grassroots movement for a blue (or at least purple) Texas far beyond this primary election season. After losing significant ground over the past several years, the pendulum is now swinging in our direction. 2026, we’re ready!

Texas Democrats are working hard to achieve big victories in 2026. Candidates fill every U.S. congressional, state House, and state Senate seat up for election. In addition, a Democrat is running in every statewide judicial and State Board of Education race. The candidates are made up of everyday Texans. A third work in education; 20% have worked in oil fields, chemical refineries, factories, and other similar hard labor jobs; 15% are military veterans; 10% are members of unions; and the overwhelming majority (90%) are first-time candidates for public office.

RR Democratic Club is proud to work in coordination with the Denton County Democratic Party to build our base and spread our message. We are poised to renew and strengthen the Democratic Party; to elect candidates up and down the ballot who will fight for our shared values.
