Democratic Club helping candidates reach their financial goals for successful campaigns
Vicki Baker
With the mid-term election season in full swing, the RR Democratic Club is lending its full support to our favored candidates to help them succeed and win. While it’s true each person gets only one vote, there are other ways to lend your support that go beyond simply showing up at the polls.
The question often comes up, “What’s the best way to get involved in advancing the Democratic Party’s cause?” The answer is simple: “Just do it.” Too often, people think that it will just “happen.” That someday someone will call them out of the blue and ask them to get involved. That’s simply not the case. The best way to get involved with our Democratic Party is to get out there and get started.
Taking this “can do” attitude, along with our grassroots advocacy, the Democratic Club hosted a fundraising social, inviting friends and neighbors to meet candidates on the ballot for the March Primary. Ernest Lineberger (District 26 in the U.S. House of Representatives), Stephanie Draper (Denton County Commissioners Court District 4), and Christie Wood (Texas House District 64) answered questions, encouraged the exchange of ideas, and discussed issues of mutual concern.
If you were unable to attend the fundraiser, there are many other ways you can help lead these candidates to victory: volunteer for the campaign, display a yard sign, canvas the community, participate in phone banks, write postcards to get out the vote …
And, of course, join the Robson Ranch Democratic Club and be a part of something that makes real change happen. Meetings are held in the clubhouse on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. for social time and 6 p.m. for general membership meetings and presentations.
