“The Denton County Democratic Party is fired up and ready for 2026,” County Party Chair Delia Parker-Mims told members of the Robson Democratic Club at their August meeting.

Mims is visiting all Democratic clubs and organizations in the county this month, rallying members in preparation for the 2026 elections. The stop in Robson Ranch was part of that tour. “The strategy of our opponents has been to try to scare us,” she said, “but it has scared us into action, not into submission.”

Club members also got an update on the progress of Voting Centers Now!, an independent effort to persuade the Denton County Commission to approve countywide Election Day voting here, as in 99 other Texas counties. Denton County is the only urban county in the state where voters don’t have the ability to cast ballots at any polling place in the county on Election Day.

The club had its first TGIF on Sept. 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Boardroom at the Wildhorse Grill. The club provided snacks, and attendees brought their own drinks. The event was open to all.

Robson Ranch Democrats learn about civic and political issues together, respecting each other’s opinions. We meet candidates, register voters, volunteer to help elect Democrats, serve as election workers, and have a good time together! We meet every month (except May, June, July, and December) on the first Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Robson clubhouse. Everyone is welcome.
