After a long day we all want to come home to peace and quiet. Does your décor offer you that comfort? If not, maybe it’s time for a few changes to make a difference in your feelings and mood.
Jaclyn Crawford (Improvement.net) suggests trying one or more of the following ideas.
1. The power of paint colors is amazing. “Selecting the right color is crucial to setting the tone and purpose of a room,” according to Kristin Whalan, award winning kitchen and bath designer.
2. Whalan also suggests that plants not only improve the air quality in your home, but also improve relaxation and focus.
3. Natural lighting is one of the least expensive ways to create calming and peaceful effects and improve your mood at the same time.
4. Cluttered and disorganized interiors are “mood killers” – no one wants to come home to a mess. Place baskets around the room to store magazines, pillows, throws, etc. instead of having them strewn all over the furniture.
5. Select furniture that welcomes you to relax in it. Colors and patterns are all important to set your mood. Just because it’s the “in style” piece of furniture doesn’t mean it’s the right piece for you. Make sure it elevates your mood.
6. Now, it’s time to get started! Don’t know where to begin? It’s now time to hire a decorator who has the expertise to fulfil all your decorating needs.
