2017 color of the year

Since 2000 the Pantone Color Institute declared a particular color, “Color of the Year.” For 2017 that exciting color is “Greenery.” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, suggests that “Greenery burst forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
When I look at this new color of the year I wonder what the possibilities of using Greenery in my home are. Yes, it is bright and cheerful bringing excitement and happy thoughts. But what in the world can I do with such a bright and intense color? The best way to handle any color of such intensity as Greenery is to use it in moderation. Use it in pillows, accent pieces such as lamps or lampshades or pottery, candles and artwork. Small accent chairs are another way to display a splash of color.
