The Robson Ranch Drama Club ended their year with an outing to Denton Community Theater on Dec. 13. A pre-show gathering was attended at Kathy and Don Jacobs’ house where appetizers and beverages were consumed.
Our recap of 2023 includes group outings to Denton Community Theater where we saw the live performance of the holiday classic, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.
Our theater performances were March 26 and Oct. 22. The plays performed in March were Complaint Department, Café Murder, and Cheating Death. In October we presented The Journey, The Committee, Clark and Bruce, Radio KRZ, and a special Dragnet skit.
We had workshops to finetune our acting skills. Kevin Small from Four Day Weekend came to the clubhouse to lead us in exercises to help free our improvisational techniques.
We participated in the HOA Open House for all the clubs represented at Robson Ranch and were present at both spring and fall garage sale events.
The Pioneer Press monthly newspaper ran our articles every month. Our actors were highlighted and introduced via interview questions. They have included Jere Bone, Tony Kura, Vicki Parr, Tom and Ronda Gunther, Fran Hackley, Shirley Waterhouse, Tammy Pickard, Doug Akins, Mary Fabian, and Kathy Jacobs.
The Drama Club is a fun group. We welcome everyone, and no experience is necessary. We need people both on stage and behind the curtain. If you are interested in joining the Drama Club, contact Mary Ornberg at [email protected]. Our meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday at 6 p.m. every month.
Looking ahead to the future, the Drama Club teases that their next performance is scheduled for April 28, inviting everyone to mark their calendars for what promises to be another enchanting showcase of talent and creativity.
As the curtain falls on a year packed with artistic triumphs and shared joy, the Robson Ranch Drama Club continues to be a beacon of creativity, friendship, and the pure delight of the performing arts.
