On Nov. 4 the Robson Ranch Drama Club put on an unforgettable Thanksgiving-themed performance at the Robson Ranch Women’s Club monthly luncheon. Dubbed “The Event of the Year,” the program brought together a mix of comedy, music, and dance that captivated the audience and left them applauding long after the show ended.
The event was masterfully hosted by Darla Mahan and Teresa Korn who kept the energy high and the audience engaged throughout the afternoon. The program featured a diverse array of performances, starting with a humorous skit titled “First Thanksgiving,” by Fran Hackley and Mary Fabian.
Next, Alan Stark, Vicki Parr, and Fran Hackley wowed the crowd with a beautiful a cappella rendition of “Over the River,” bringing a touch of nostalgia and heartwarming tradition to the event.
A standout moment came when Debbie Deverich took the stage to perform a solo of “The Thanksgiving Song.” Her moving performance evoked both the joy and gratitude that define the holiday, earning her a well-deserved round of applause.
The comedic timing and playful take performed by Tony Kura and Lisa Locke in the skit “Thanksgiving Gone Wrong” had the audience in stitches, highlighting the lighter side of Thanksgiving.
The performance concluded with a lively dance number to “Stretchy Pants,” by Carrie Underwood, choreographed by Linda Weston and performed by Vicki Parr, Shirley Waterhouse, Andrea Fisher, Linda Weston, and Lisa Locke. The fun and energetic dance perfectly captured the festive spirit of the season and had the audience clapping along to the beat.
When the final curtain fell, the audience rose to their feet, giving the cast a thunderous round of applause and a standing ovation for their exceptional work. The Thanksgiving-themed program was a true celebration of community, creativity, and the joy of the season.
