The general session meeting of the RR Drone Club was held on Feb. 23 at the Creative Arts and Technology Center in Room 104 (Bluebonnet Room) at 7 p.m. This meeting was open to any Robson homeowner, as we have no dues.

We were honored to have Jared Janacek, president of Texas Drone Company, who presented on “The U.S. Drone Market Shift: Understanding DJI, Compliance, and Your Options.” His goal was to provide clarity, reduce confusion, and give attendees a practical framework for future decisions.

Jared’s Agenda was as follows:

• What recent regulatory discussions actually mean;

• The difference between FAA rules, FCC equipment approvals, and federal procurement policies;

• Whether existing DJI drones are still legal to fly;

• Practical steps DJI owners should take now;

• An overview of the current drone market (DJI, Autel, Skydio, Teal, Freefly); and

• How drones are used in professional industries like construction and mining.
