Mint julep winners Cathi and Glenn Wilson
The Second Annual Kentucky Derby Party was held Saturday, May 6, in the East Quarry of Robson Ranch, Texas.
A fun time was had by 85 to 90 residents. There was a hat contest for the ladies, mint julep contest, and, of course, a stick horse race for both ladies and gents.
Residents showed up in their best attire for the big race. Last year’s winner of the stick horse race, Trigger, has been retired. This year’s winner is Raider Red, ridden by his owner Grant Carthey.
Most colorful hat, best theme hat, and mint julep winners were announced. Best theme hat went to Linda Cawley and most colorful to Jan Graham. Mint julep winners were Cathi and Glenn Wilson.
Our great DJ Wally announced the start of the race and continued playing music throughout the rest of the evening.
