Orientation for seven eager potters began with comic instructions on how to succeed while playing in the mud. The first day, “students” explored the room on a scavenger hunt in which they discovered where necessary tools are for completing the bowls they made. Other days they not only learned new vocabulary like slip, cone and underglaze, but they also chose glazes on a field trip to Trinity Clay and Glaze in Dallas. What an enthusiastic group! Pat Bender, Jan Marx and Jo Hanes enjoyed helping them begin their journey.
