We’re halfway into the year and gearing up for the best events yet to come!
Hopefully, Mother’s Day delivered all that was expected with much appreciation. It’s now time to turn to dads. So, mothers, treat your hubby, dad, to another round of golf or some new duds. Whatever you decide, make it special while you’re still together!
Our wonderful vendors are glad to see warmer, sunnier mornings, so get on out there and show your appreciation for all the “fresh” products available to Robson Ranch residents. If you’ve missed seeing the Touring Chocolatier, she has rejoined us—welcome her back. You can also delight in listening to the Robson Ramblers Band in the parking lot alongside our vendors as the weather permits. Most of the vendors take orders. Consult our website, rrlwc.com, for menus.
Both of our May presentations by Dr. Israel Riley Pena on Pain Management on May 4, and Dr. Anthony Rios on Vascular Health on May 18, were well attended and full of information.
On June 15 we’ll host Kyle Bradford, Sergeant of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Highway Patrol. He’ll speak on media and communications Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training. Staying safe is paramount to living a good, healthy life. Please join us for some realistic information.
Then on Sept. 21 there will be a DCFD CPR/AED Class presented by Battalion Chief Brad Lahart. The class is limited to 30 guests, so come early if you want to participate.
Our 4th of July Parade is just a month away! It begins with our Living Well Committee members Gil and Fred leading a “Firecracker Walk.” The three-mile walkers gather at the clubhouse at 6:30 a.m. to begin a walk/run at 7 a.m. Follow the dozens of proudly displayed United States waving flags to the clubhouse, alleging our love for this country. Fred will lead the way on his bicycle with the more energetic walkers, while Gil and others follow behind after you pick up your colorful free scarves. Water and watermelon will be available after the walk. From there, grab your lawn chair and meet the thousands of Robson Ranch residents already sitting on each side of Robson Boulevard awaiting another spectacular 4th of July Parade. New residents: Please don’t miss this extravaganza!
Our next big event is our Robson Ranch annual Olympics culminating on Sept. 30, with a fantastic lunch by the Wildhorse Grill. This year’s events will begin earlier in September to eliminate double-booking venues. The Golf Olympics will be on Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. Other dates will be revealed as they are scheduled. Registration dates are as follows: Wednesday, July 26; Friday, July 28; Monday, July 31; Wednesday, Aug. 2; Friday, Aug. 4; Monday, Aug. 7; Wednesday, Aug. 9; Friday, Aug. 11; and Monday, Aug. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m., with an additional evening on Monday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. Plus, we’ll be accepting drop-off checks at a designated area TBA. Early registration and payment of $25 is necessary to purchase game shirts. More information will unfold as it becomes available. Always check our website, rrlwc.com, for updates. Let’s make this the biggest and best year of the Olympics!
Within that time frame, on Sept. 23, the HOA Living Well Committee is working with the Robson Ranch Cancer Group, sponsors of their Second Annual Cancer Walk, to benefit our local Texas Oncology Foundation. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. with a $25 donation. Pastries and coffee will be provided by the Wildhorse Grill. For more information, contact Nancy at [email protected].
If you’re a big walker and prefer to hike, the newly created Hiking Club is perfect for you. Check weekly updates that appear on your computer daily.
The Saturday morning Walk-About with Gil has been discontinued until fall.
If you desire to grow your own veggies or herbs, there are a few box gardens still available. Contact Linda Caron, front desk receptionist, in the clubhouse or email [email protected].
Happy Father’s Day!
