Here in Robson Ranch, we’d all agree that those who put their lives on the line for the rest of us are the “good guys”, such as our first responders and our military personnel.
On May 3 and 4, Support Our Troops (SOT) will sponsor its annual golf tournament and for the tenth year, will invite military personnel from Ft. Hood, Carswell AFB and Homeland Security in Denton to come for a relaxing weekend of golf and fellowship with Robson Ranch residents. About 100 Robson golfers are needed to fill out the roster. If desired, some of our golfers can be paired with some of the military players. Since this is a fundraiser for SOT, the entry fee for the Robson players will be $100-$125 depending on annual pass status and golf cart requirement. If you’d like to play, forms are available at the Pro Shop or online www.supportourtroopstexas.com/Golf.html. SOT hopes to provide each military guest (and spouse) with a Robson Ranch golf shirt. If you’d like to donate toward those special shirts, please contact Sam Goodrich at 972-310-7622.
Two special culinary events, related to the golf tournament, are open to Robson residents: The Honor Dinner on Thursday evening, May 3 at $25 per person and the Awards Luncheon on Friday afternoon, $20 tickets. All military guest meal expenses are paid by the Robson Corporation, and on Friday night, many generous Robson residents host potluck dinners at their homes for our military guests. Contact Bill Moore at 713-502-6657 if you are interested in attending the Honor Dinner or Awards Luncheon.
Nearly 100 volunteers are needed for this tournament, with several volunteers staffing each hole. Others are needed to help with the set up and take down of the hole signage. And speaking of the hole signs, if you’d like to sponsor one to show your support, there are a few still available at $150 and SOT makes the signs! To volunteer or donate, please contact Donna Chabot at 940-262-0366.
So, for a healthy dose of patriotic tee shots and putts, come join us to welcome and celebrate the good guys and make their Robson weekend a memorable one.
