The Happy Tails Dog Club has a busy schedule ahead, despite some early setbacks this year. Unfortunately, the club’s first meeting of the year, featuring guest speaker Dr. Blake Rochell, was canceled due to the weather-related closure of the CATC building. Organizers are hopeful of rescheduling Dr. Rochell’s visit and will update members when details are finalized. Third time’s the charm!
On Saturday, March 1, the Happy Tails Dog Club is hosting a benefit concert/dance featuring the local band The Jolly Ranchers. The event aims to raise funds for Happy Dance Dog Rescue, a small but impactful local organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming small dogs. The rescue group, introduced to the club during a September meeting, has made a significant impact by saving around 60 dogs in 2024 alone, despite its limited size. Happy Dance Dog Rescue provides medical care and safe foster homes until the dogs find their forever families.
Tickets for the benefit concert are $15 and are on sale at the clubhouse. The club encourages everyone to join for a night of music and dancing while supporting a worthy cause.
Looking further ahead, the club will host a spring photo event on April 12. The event will feature a garden backdrop filled with seasonal blooms, perfect for capturing special moments with your furry companions. Sign-ups for private photography sessions will open in mid-March.
The Happy Tails Dog Club meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in Room 103 of the CATC building. Membership is open to all dog enthusiasts, with annual dues set at $10 per household. For more information, visit the club’s website at www.rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com. The club looks forward to seeing members old and new at these exciting upcoming events!
