December 1, 2017 – 29th Annual Holiday Lighting Festival on Denton’s Historic Square – 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 110 West Hickory Street, Denton, TX 76201. – This beloved community event, held on the second Friday following Thanksgiving, includes musical and dance presentations, horse drawn carriage rides, children’s crafts and visits with Santa. December 1 through December 2, 2017 – Wassail Weekend – 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 1; 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on December 2 in downtown Denton – Downtown merchants will stir up their best cider recipes to give free tastings for all ages during the festivities of the annual Denton Holiday Lighting Festival, and more downtown merchants will hold tastings on the following day, Saturday, December 2. Saturday will have some wassail stops open, strolling musicians and there will be some morning fun for the family at the Holiday Express Train, an event held by Denton County Friends of the Family.
