The stars were out at the Rockin’ Red Ranchers January 2024 Hollywood-themed membership brunch. The red carpet and photo corner, complete with props, welcomed everyone to the event. Our own paparazzi, Nicole McCollum, gave everyone a moment to shine in the spotlight.
Queen Pat Hamblin welcomed current and new members and recapped all the wonderful activities from the past year. She thanked her board members for their support during her reign and invited members to enjoy the buffet. Additionally, each table had a three-tier centerpiece, which was garnished with delicious sweet treats made for us by member Arlene Stotts.
After brunch concluded, Pat passed the crown to Carla Baldassero who introduced her board members: Janice Brown, events; Diane Eoff, treasurer; Bernadette Fideli, Sunshine; Janice Forthman, secretary; Celia Hall, publicity; and Sandy Hestes, vice queen. New members were introduced to the membership individually with a short bio and welcomed to the group.
Topping off the Hollywood theme, we tested our knowledge of famous women performers of stage, screen, and TV. Janice Forthman led everyone in a timed game of Who Am I? Six three-minute rounds were played, and the winners received miniature Oscars. The sixth-place winner guessed in 1 minute 42 seconds, and the first-place winner guessed in just 19 seconds! Based on our first new year event, 2024 will be an active and lively year for the Rockin’ Reds.
