On Wednesday, September 17, the RRWGA 18 holers hosted the Hoofs and Heels Invitational golf tournament. There were 80 golfers from seven different golf clubs in the Denton area. We were greeted by volunteers from the MGA who organized our golf carts, and we were then treated to doughnuts and coffee that were provided by David Thatcher, club pro at Robson Ranch. The tournament was chaired by Brenda Alford who asked everyone to wear their western bling. In keeping with the bling theme, everyone was given a bling towel, a bling bag and a bling ball marker. There was a best hat contest won by Carol Reinbeau and a best boot contest won by Alice Wright. There were four golf flights and the winners were the following: first flight, first place, Alice Wright and Lyndle Motley; second place, Paula Bull and Linda Nelson; third place, Diane Bent and Pam Brozek. Second flight, first place, Brenda Alford and Ann Cole; second place, Sonja Reed and Susan Schmidt; third place, Linda Klovans and Becky Hughes. Third flight, first place, Cindy Bass and Carol Reinbeau; second place, Linda Tubbs and Cindy Fleenor; third place, Margaret Irwin and Cheryl McCally. Fourth flight, first place, Chris White and Phyllis Formhals; second place, Charlene Hodson and Ann Fox; third place, Pat Knight and Mala Bowdouris. During the tournament the golfers were given complementary tastes of flavored vodka and honey whiskey. Needless to say a good time was had by all.
