Ho’olu Komo La Kaua

Ho’olu Komo La Kaua was the message sent to the membership of the Red Hat Ranchers. This was a delightful invitation to them to join hostesses Barbara Runner, Bernadette Fideli and Ardie Oman for a wonderful Hawaiian Luau luncheon. Barbara graciously opened her home for this event on June 17. The hostess had gone all out with memories of many trips to Hawaii decorating the home. Flower arrangements of tropical flowers were gorgeous and admired by all. The feast provided by the hostesses started off with volcanic punch, followed by grilled chicken satay, beach kneen crab salad, kalua pulled pork, Hawaiian meatballs, plus all the trimmings to go with those courses. It was all topped off with Hilo haupia squares for dessert and delightful nutter butter flip flop cookies for a treat. Needless to say no one went home hungry.

In keeping with the theme the ladies came dressed in a colorful array of Hawaiian clothing including muumuus, sarongs, grass skirts, bright flowery clothing and many leis and flowers adorning their hair. What a colorful group they made.

The ladies of the club never cease to come up with creative ideas for adventures. On June 25 they went to UNT for one of their Hoots to take a fashion department tour. They were shown the famous vault where all the treasured gowns are kept. In July the Hoot will have a bowling party.

That will be followed in July with the annual pool party here at Robson. This tradition is one that is well attended by all and is always a lot of fun. Stay tuned next month to hear about the fun they had.
