It’s All About the Music

Frances Hackley, Publicity Chair

The Robson Ranch Choir is celebrating 20 years of music and song here at Robson. The Choir was started 20 years ago by Joe and Tawanna Arnett with the first Veterans Day concert. Since then, they have performed three concerts a year, as well as sponsoring many other musical events. Many of the club events have become Robson traditions, such as the soon-coming Denton Community Band playing here on the 4th of July, Scaryoke, Veterans Day concerts, Christmas concerts, and spring concerts. The club also offers other karaoke, dances, and Music Bingo events throughout the year. They are also helping sponsor the youth in the area to continue with their musical aspirations. Borman Elementary and The Youth Symphony of Denton are two groups locally nurturing the next generation of musicians. Members of the club are aware of the attributes of learning and participating in music. Members of the Robson Choir, in particular, enjoy the benefits of music participation.

Being part of a choir can enhance cognitive skills, relieve stress, lower blood pressure, improve lung capacity, enhance social activity, improve mood, and lessen depression. In short, music brings joy to one’s life.

The Music Club is holding auditions for its fantastic Choir! If you have ever been to our concerts, you would have to agree that this Choir is absolutely fantastic! If you would like to be part of the joy that being in this choir gives and receives, consider auditioning. Auditions are being held on Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Patriot Room of the clubhouse. Be prepared to sing one or two songs a cappella. Please contact the club administrator, Susan Lueders, at [email protected] for audition registration.

The club continues to be grateful to the community for their support as we continue to bring great, affordable musical events to the community. Please go to our website, rrmusicclub.com, for information on all Music Club events and concerts.
