Rupa A. Mathur
The Robson Ranch International Club represented their club in the Fourth of July Parade. Anna-Lisa Anderson was very gracious and kind to let the club members ride in her Classic 1971 convertible Ford Mustang car. The passengers in her car were Anna-Lisa Anderson from Sweden (the driver), Chuck Hutin (married to Marlena from Columbia), Alfred Van Gool from Belgium and Rupa Mathur from India. Alfred and Rupa held the International Club banner while driving around, whereas Marlena Hutin rode in a decorated golf cart with her son, his wife and two grandkids; and Eileen Whittaker from Great Britain and Jim Fox from Ireland rode their golf cart decorated with international flags. It was a great deal of fun for the members and an honor to be able to partake in the parade.
We had our July meeting on our regularly scheduled third Thursday of the month, on July 16, at Vinny’s Italian Restaurant located in the Trophy Club. It appears that our International members love Italian food because the attendance was just great. We had a wonderful time mingling with each other while enjoying the delicious Italian cuisine.
The International Club members generally meet on the third Thursday of the month, but on certain occasions we vary the dates. We meet at members’ homes for lunch or dinners as well as partake in outings. This forum encourages people born outside of the United States and living in Robson Ranch to share their culture and experiences, as well, as to cultivate friendships, support and understanding.
