Liberty Belles Host Social for Republican Women

Lynne Kelsey

The Liberty Belles, aka the women of the Republican Club, hosted a “Come and Go” in November—and many did! The three-hour social, held at the Kelsey residence, offered the approximately 45 ladies who attended the opportunity to have a glass of wine or tea and indulge in some delicious finger food. It was delightful to see familiar members and to welcome new faces, several of whom had never attended a Republican Club event before. We hope we made them feel welcome and that they will become active members! Watch for more Liberty Belle events next year, including the Spring Luncheon, which is set for March 19, 2024. It’s not too early to get it on your calendar!

These events take planning, and that’s where the Steering Committee comes in. These 13 ladies meet twice a month to discuss both special events like those above and their regular activities of supporting the Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center, through working at the Twice as Nice Resale store and the Liberty Belles book club. Members of the committee work together—and play together, too! This month six of them took a Saturday off to have tea at Coco’s Tea Room, located inside the Antique Mall in Grapevine. It was a relaxing respite and with the Antique Mall featuring many booths with Christmas décor for sale, a great way to start off the holiday season. The Steering Committee will be gathering for a Christmas craft and gift exchange in December, but after the first of the year, it’s back to work!
