Have you seen what’s new at the Farmer’s Market? We have added two new vendors this past month. The first one is Naturally Grown Farms, who sells fresh and local microgreens. These microgreens are not only excellent in flavor but have many nutritional benefits. They can be added as a flavorful garnish to any meal. The other new vendor is Demeter’s Kitchen, who sells small batches of locally inspired sourdough breads, including whole wheat, spent grain boule, artisanal spreads, and spice mixes.
We still sponsor a monthly Walk About. We meet once a month for a two- or three-mile walk around different areas of Robson Ranch. The March walk will be on March 21. Our April walk will be a Bunny Hop (two-mile walk), on Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m., and all residents and their families, especially grandchildren are invited. An Easter treat will be given to all who participate.
The Living Well Committee provides monthly seminars on various topics throughout the year. In March, there will be a talk on Organizational Skills given by a Robson Ranch resident Michele Ray Williams. In April the HOA and Living Well Committee co-sponsor a health fair. This year it will be held on Saturday, April 4 in the Clubhouse with many local vendors, health providers, and medical businesses participating. Several residents have asked about good nutrition and cognition and if and how they are related. So, on May 21 at 1 p.m., the Living Well Committee has scheduled a workshop on myth busting called, Path to the Plate, raising the Curtain on your Food. The speakers are part of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension program. They will also discuss GMOs and organic versus non-organic.
If you are interested in being a part of this committee, come join us for our monthly meeting in the clubhouse. For more information, please contact Joyce Ambre, chairman.
