On May 15 Denton Fire Department Battalion Chief Bradley Lahart and staff members Delante Bell and Brad Lahart demonstrated firsthand techniques and lifesaving skills of how to use CPR and an AED prior to first responders arriving.
The session highlighted the utilization of CPR high-tech manikins integrated with feedback technology, highlighting how innovative tools contribute to more effective CPR training. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with these advanced resources, gaining practical experience in administering CPR and operating automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
According to Chief Bradley Lahart, “Being prepared in emergency situations can significantly enhance survival rates. By equipping individuals with the skills and confidence to perform CPR and operate AEDs before professional assistance arrives, we can potentially save lives.”
The training session emphasized the critical role played by bystanders in bridging the gap between the onset of a medical emergency and the arrival of emergency personnel. By fostering a culture of preparedness and proactive engagement within the community, the Denton Fire Department aims to bolster public safety and resilience.
As advancements in technology continue to revolutionize emergency response protocols, empowering individuals with accessible and effective training remains paramount in preserving human life.
