The 4th of July, Independence Day, has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later, delegates from 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades, and concerts, to family gatherings and barbecues. Here at Robson Ranch, the HOA, clubs, and residents continue to celebrate and honor the traditions with a fabulous parade, touting rows of American flags, a musical background of “The Star-Spangled Banner” (the national anthem of the United States), with thousands of our residents lining Robson Ranch Boulevard waving flags and honoring our country. As usual, this year did not disappoint, with fire engines, police, horses, decorated golf carts, floats, antique vehicles, and much more—a true patriotic celebration! Thanks to all who contributed and participated.

Two new vendors have joined our Friday morning market: Reviving Real Food and Queen Esther’s Cupcakes (she’ll join in October). Megan and Kyle LaPoint of Reviving Real Food have a delicious selection of soups and cheeses. Stop by, say hello, and check out their offerings. All our vendors continue to provide the best produce and all other products every Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. You can also order on our website rrlwc.com.

Sergeant Kyle Bradford of the Texas Department of Public Safety spoke to us on June 15 as it relates to safety, especially when we’re outside of Robson Ranch. His films depicted previous mass shooting events and suggested tips on how to remain safe. Thank you to all those who attended.

We hope Father’s Day, celebrated on June 18, was special for all you dads out there.

The HOA Living Well Committee has not scheduled any presentation for July or August. It’s usually a busy time with the 4th of July festivities and family time for many. But continue to check out our website, rrlwc.com, for the most current happenings, especially the annual Robson Olympics in September.

Mark your calendars for Oct. 5 when Dan Ballenger will present another informative session on Medicare at 1 p.m. And on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m., Laura Redman of North Texas Orthopedics Spine and Pain Management Center will discuss sports injuries and treatments.

We look forward to seeing you at the Robson Olympics! Have a great, safe, and happy summer.
