Living Well Committee Vendor Spotlight: Canning Is My Jam

Living Well Committee Denton vendor Canning Is My Jam

Claudia J. Caporale

Stephanie Wood is the owner and creator of Canning Is My Jam. She takes vegetables and berries and jars them fresh in Sanger, Texas. When available, she incorporates produce from her garden and local farmers.

She’s no novice at canning garden produce! She learned it from her mom and grandmother in her earlier years when they lived in Midland, Texas. Stephanie attended and graduated from UNT in 2002, having majored in psychology and business. She spent a decade in the mental health industry, another decade in the restaurant industry, and later combined all her knowledge into starting her own business. She began as a “personal chef,” gingerly selecting the freshest products to prepare for individual selections, and then began canning produce, marketing it at weekend venues.

As with all our vendors, Stephanie carries liability insurance mandated by the Texas Cottage Food Laws, plus other certifications.

Stephanie is very conscious of individuals’ dietary needs and uses little to no sugar in most of her cannings. All her products are vegan-friendly. Her offerings change as growing seasons change, so if there’s something you like—that’s only available now—buy it!

Stephanie has enhanced her Facebook page to include her menu items. Check them out at facebook.com/mealsanddeal.stx.

If you haven’t met Stephanie, stop by, say “hello,” and let her tell you about her variety of products.
