Local Artist to Speak at Voices United September Meeting

Francesca d’Atria-Romano, a Robson resident and Voices United member, will be the speaker at the club’s Sept. 13 meeting. Francesca has been both an artist and an arts educator, working as a teacher in the New York City school system for 35 years and also as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University in New York. In addition, she was a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As an artist, Francesca has won over 160 awards.

Now in retirement, Francesca continues to create art and teaches art history through the University of North Texas OLLI program. Francesca sits on the board for the Greater Denton Arts Council and Visual Arts Society of Texas. She is also Arts Representative for the City Council of Denton.

The luncheon meeting will be at 11 a.m. in the clubhouse. For more information or to join the group, go to www.voicesunitedrr.org.
