Neighbors are a precious, important, powerful part of our lives. We don’t always utilize them for our good, and that may be because we don’t know them well enough. The “Cascade Gals” is a group of women that live on Cascade Drive (some are married, some single) at Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas. We have been gathering in homes on a monthly basis for great fellowships, to keep in touch with each other, greet new neighbors moving in and acknowledging that old time relationship of knowing your neighbors and being a neighbor. Cascade Drive is composed of two blocks, and there are 18 homes. I moved here 11 years ago when there were only about half of the homes built and occupied. The women were meeting monthly, playing board games and enjoying potluck refreshments. Karen Moore kept us organized and still holds this position unofficially. We’ve lost a few neighbors due to death. Some surviving spouses move, homes get sold, and we get new neighbors. Continuing to keep our group involved helps us remain close and available to help and enjoy each other. This month we fellowshipped in the home of one of our newest neighbors, Cathy Woods, who graciously volunteered her home after having attended one time.
