Steve Simpson, Club Officer
The Drone Club meets the fourth Monday evening of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. in Room 104 at the Creative Arts Technology Center. We have no dues, and attendance is open for any Robson resident who is interested in anything that is drone related, regardless of what they own or understand, but have a desire to learn more about. We encourage all attendees to join our free membership in Groups.IO at groups.io/g/rrdroneclub and to visit our website, tinyurl.com/4n6y8yav.
Our May 22 meeting was hosted by Steve Simpson who was honored to have FAA Safety Team Rep Adrian Doko on hand to present to us “Meet Your FAA Safety Team Rep.” This meeting was to inform attendees on how the FAA is working to ensure that all recreational pilots are aware of new rules and regulations.
We had a robust group of Robson attendees who asked many questions during the presentation agenda, which included: “How do I determine FAA air space before flying my drone?” and “How does the FAA determine the difference between a recreational and commercial drone pilot?” as well as “What is all this talk about remote ID, and how will it affect a recreational pilot?”
At our Monday, June 26, meeting, we will have Dennis Brooks (club officer) presenting his new V-Coptr, highlighting the pros and cons versus those of the DJI drones. We hope to see everyone then.
