The Robson Ranch Movie Lovers Group held its January meeting at the home of Joyce and Bill Frey. The Frey’s along with Vickie and Jere Bone are the founding members of the Movie Lovers Group. This month was a full house with all members attending and even a few invited guests.
As we went around the room the members reviewed the movies they had seen. The movie that stood out with a two thumbs up from all reviews was La La Land. The movie had great music, a good uplifting storyline and was an inspirational movie compared to many darker movies out today. Rogue One, the new Star Wars movie, received a mixed review as some liked the movie and others felt it was not up to the high bar of the original Star Wars movies. The Denzel Washington movie Fences also received a mixed review. Some felt the movie was a difficult one to adapt from a theatre script. Other movies recommended from the group were the Accountant and Hell or High Water.
Next month the Movie Lovers will be reviewing Hidden Figures and A Dog’s Purpose.
