The Voices United club, working in conjunction with the Coats for Kids Ride (C4KR), a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization organized for a charitable purpose, asked its members to help children who need a new coat. Voices United delivered more than 40 new coats to Joyce Brein, co-chair of the Voices United Caring Committee.

These coats were delivered on Nov. 29 to the Coats for Kids Ride. C4KR distributes the coats in all the local school districts in Denton County and through the Children’s Advocacy Center of North Texas during the first week of December. The children select a coat for themselves right off a rack as if they were shopping. For some children, it is a new experience. Each year C4KR collaborates with school counselors to assess local needs. The coats are sorted by size and gender.

C4KR has been sponsoring this program since 2011. This is the first year that Voices United has stepped up to help this program. It is a moment for Voices United members to express gratitude for the joy in their lives and share that joy with others.

Voices United is a non-partisan group of Robson Ranch women who share progressive values, perform community outreach, provide civic awareness and social contact for members, and have a good time! We’re a 501(c)(3) group. Our annual dues are $25.
