The Wildhorse Lady Niners and the Men’s Nine Hole Association welcomed 46 players on Wednesday afternoon, April 15, for a round of golf. The excitement was evident as our chairperson, Tanya Jones, and our Pro, David Thatcher, called out teams and sent us on our way for a shotgun scramble. The men loved getting to tee off from the red tee boxes while the women were grinning with their advantage from the silver. New friendships were being made as off we went for nine holes on a gorgeous spring day. When we returned, 50 dined on a great spaghetti dinner accompanied with a salad, roll and beverage. All this fun and friendship for only $17. As we all trickled in, scores were posted on the big board. Prizes were awarded to the first five places. First place winners were Jo and Bob Leenhouts and Deb and Larry Nortunen. The second place winners were Jamey and Daniel Siefert and Paula and Ed Bone; third place was awarded to Jackie and Donald Maurer and Karen and Don Skokan. There was a tie for the last two places. Our team really felt there should have been a last place prize. The Nine and Dine is a very social outing designed to make new friends and have fun playing a round of golf and coming back and breaking bread together. Please join us for the next Nine and Dine on Wednesday, May 27. There will be notices in the Pro Shop as well as on the HOA. It’s just plain old fun with a lot of laughter thrown in.
