The Paint & Palette Club recently offered its first artist demonstration to new students/members. We are proud to say it was very successful and well attended. Both artists, Janet Coddington and Jan Marx, presented “How to Create Zentangle Art.” All in attendance were given free art materials and instructions on how to create their very own unique Zentangle square. Thank you, Janet and Jan, for a great job!
Our club has decided to present a once-a-month educational demonstration on all varieties of artistic techniques and mediums. This will happen every third Monday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m.
Next month’s demonstration is scheduled for Aug. 15. Artist Francesca Romano will demonstrate “How to Paint with Acrylic Paints and a Palette Knife.” Attendees will be able to create a small, rocky landscape scene as they follow along with Francesca’s demonstration.
Francesca has an extensive and notable background, both as an artist and art historian. She also teaches through UNT’S OLLI program and was recently awarded a one-woman art exhibit at the Greater Denton Arts Council/Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. Francesca is also the president of the Paint & Palette Club. She is very proud of the many wonderful artists/members who help to make this group so wonderful to work with and so much fun.
Painting materials will be supplied free of charge. However, if you have your own brushes, paints, or a small canvas, please bring them to help cut our costs of supplies. Don’t forget to wear an apron or sloppy clothes!
