The Robson Ranch Photo Club held its monthly general session meeting on Feb. 16 in the Creative Arts and Technology Center at 7 p.m. The main program was a discussion of infrared photography, including the methods used to take infrared images with a digital camera. Club members Dick Remski and Jerry Schlesinger introduced the concepts of infrared photography, including some history of the technique, along with a bit of physics related to the topic. Two methods used for infrared capture of photographic images were explained, which are either physical camera conversions or by the use of filters. The pros and cons of each method were discussed. Displayed images taken by the presenters were spectacular in composition and detail. The talk covered both monochrome and black and white infrared image capture. A future talk is in preparation on the topic of false color infrared images.

We also reviewed the results from individual club member entries for the January monthly image contest. The viewing of these images is always a fun and educational part of the meeting.
