On May 9, 2016 the Pickleball Club held its recognition and awards banquet. Over 170 players and guests enjoyed the meal of chicken Parmesan, Caesar salad and cupcakes.
The past and current board and committee members were recognized for their service to the club. However, the greatest recognition went to Eldon Reynolds for his long-term service. Eldon was provided a lifetime achievement award, which entitles him to free membership for his lifetime. He also received a Texas Traveling club paddle donated by Ford Roberson.
Several tables spent a lot of time and effort for the centerpiece contest. Some had several meetings prior to the banquet to design and build the winning centerpieces. The centerpiece displays ranged from lighted extravagance to a last minute rose placed in a wine bottle. The audience determined the winners based on how loud they cheered for each entry. The first, second and third place winners were the Humphries table, the Scholze table and the Bishop table.
After the meal and awards we all rocked out to our favorite Robson Ranch band, Exit 79. All y’all had a great time! See you next year!
