The aroma of various warm casseroles, special salads, scrumptious cobblers and other desserts permeated the kitchen and spread throughout several cleverly decorated areas in the home of Ruth Klein. The talented hostess warmly welcomed 32 enthusiastic ladies of the New Life Church Ladies Lunch Bunch. Fall colors and decorations, many Ruth had made, spread a pleasant, cheerful atmosphere everywhere.

The hum in the kitchen was unmistakable as the ladies gathered around the buffet table to enjoy a sampling of the delicious dishes brought and served and to discuss the latest happenings in their lives.

As our leader Jois Ross called us to the living room to begin the program, she welcomed a special guest and a couple of new residents to the group. Afterward she turned our attention to our speaker, Peggy Zilinsky, who presented her program, “Prayer Makes a Difference.”

Peggy’s precious, personal story clearly showed the miraculous influence of prayer on her life during her early childhood, throughout her life and up to the present. She recounted God’s loving, caring placement of key people in her life to bless, protect, inspire and guide her. She also shared the impact of other positive Christian influences, which led her to a strong, loving, personal relationship with God.

She told of many instances in which the prayers of her dear grandmother especially produced many great miracles, as did the prayers and influences of others throughout her life.

During the very touching program Peggy had Pat File and Karen Wesselmann, accompanied on piano by Marguerite Richardson, sing perfectly placed hymn duets, which beautifully emphasized the rich reality of her experience with prayer, with God.

As the program neared its end she clearly affirmed that God will richly bless all who allow Him to become their “rock, fortress and deliverer.” Each lady left feeling encouraged by the wonder of the difference prayer makes.
