California Social Club members gathered at Cassie and Jim Richardson’s home for the final leg of the inaugural poker run.

Three Queens took top prize for Karol Wille at the California Social Club’s inaugural poker run on June 7. Nearly 40 club members attended the mobile event. For a $10 ante, Karol collected a cool $50 prize. Lynne Watkins collected $40 for her second-place win with a pair of Kings and sevens. And if security hadn’t been so tight, we would be suspicious that Lynne’s husband Rick Watkins snagged third place with a pair of nines and sevens to walk away with $30. Drinks are on the Watkins!
Poker players made their way to five different homes where they randomly selected a playing card. Each stop was 20 minutes and gave players ample time to visit, eat, drink, and watch the Belmont Stakes. Hosts served delicious appetizers and summery beverages. Sangria, anyone? Thanks to our hosts/organizers: D’Ann and Louie Heringes, Kathy Cooper (with an assist from Carrylyn Jacobs), Joyce and Don Swain, and Becky and Ron Frusher. Cassie and Jim Richardson hosted the final leg with a pizza party and prize money giveaway. It was aces!
