Don Roberts
“Guns Up!” and sounds of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland filled the Robson Ranch grill lounge on Oct. 14 as alumni, friends, and fans of the Texas Tech Red Raiders gathered for the first Robson Ranch Red Raider organizational meeting. Attendees wore their red and black Texas Tech regalia, and the room was decorated with Texas Tech flags, banners, and, of course, Raider Red!
Don Roberts welcomed the group and explained the nature and the social purpose of the club. There are many, many people associated with Texas Tech in Robson Ranch, and the gathering was designed to get them together for the first time as a group, organize so that they can continue to meet, enjoy each other’s company, and gather interest in hosting and attending future Red Raider events.
Many new acquaintances were made during the two-hour gathering. Included within the group were graduates, professors, football players, Saddle Tramps, and members of the Tech Goin’ Band. Attendees who graduated from Tech ranged from the 1960s to the 1990s. Many of the attendees have children or grandchildren who have attended or are attending Texas Tech.
Anyone interested in joining the Robson Ranch Red Raider Club can contact Debbie Wegman at [email protected]. There is no cost to join and no dues. Any Texas Tech enthusiast is welcome to join. Wreck ‘Em, Tech!
