The Road Runner Travel Club traveled to Greece and Turkey in May. What a wonderful trip it was! So many beautiful places and wonderful foods were experienced. The trip began in Athens with a three-day tour, including the Acropolis and Parthenon, and a bus trip to Delphi, which was considered by the ancient Greeks to be the center of the world and is full of ancient ruins. The trip continued with a seven-day cruise to visit Thessaloniki, Kusadasi, Turkey (where the ancient city of Ephesus is located), Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, and Milos before returning to Athens for flights home. While in Turkey, our group experienced Turkish rugs being hand made, and some even ordered rugs to be delivered to their homes. Watching the ladies weave and create these works of art was simply awe inspiring. This was an amazing adventure and, for many, a once-in-a-lifetime trip. There were new friendships made and future trips together planned, as well as learning so much about ancient Greece.
