The Robson Ranch Men’s Golf Association sponsored the Robson Cup Championship on May 13 and 14. The event was organized and directed by Lawry Cohen of the MGA.
The Robson Cup Championship is a two-day tournament for members that is flighted, based on handicaps with both low net and low gross winners. All players within a flight play from the same tees. Players select which tee box they play from with handicaps adjusted according to the USGA rules governing competition with mixed tee boxes. The Robson Cup is awarded to the lowest net score among all flights.
This year’s winner of the Robson Cup Championship was Ted Dunson who completed two excellent rounds of golf. Ted received a personalized trophy from the MGA. His name will be inscribed on the Robson Cup Championship Trophy, and his photo displayed in the Pro Shop.
The winners in the First Flight were 1st Ted Dunson; 2nd Greg Moe; 3rd Llynal Carey. The Second Flight winners were 1st Jeff Watts; 2nd Richard Hanson; 3rd Guy Bent. The Third Flight winners were 1st Jimmy Hayes; 2nd Dale Valentine; 3rd John Metzier. The Fourth Flight winners were 1st Elmer Summers; 2nd Ron Fowler; 3rd Lyle Nevius. The Fifth Flight winners were 1st Don Cartwright; 2nd Bob Leach; 3rd Steve Pettigrew.
