The Gun Club is the fastest growing club at Robson Ranch with over 125 members. We will have general monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of every month in the Clubhouse beginning in February. Because the Gun Club has so many different areas of interest, the club offers nine different groups. The nine groups are the Women’s Group, Clay Group, Competitive Shooting Group, Conceal and Carry Group, Antique Gun Group, Retired Law Enforcement Group, Reloading Group, Hunting Group and Shooting Range Group. The first group within the Gun Club to meet was the Antique Group. The group met at a home of one of the club members. The topic of the meeting was “the greatest battle implement ever devised,” of course the M1 rifle. Members who owned an M1 brought their rifle to share with the group. Miguel Ondina who has a Masters in Military History presented the history of the rifle in development and combat. The evening was not only a great history lesson but also a sharing of information on this rifle. The M1 is a highly collected rifle due to its military history.
The Competitive Shooting Group also met for the first time. competitive shooting focus involves pistol, rifle and shotgun. The Clay Group in the Gun Club will be more involved with the shotgun portion of competitive shooting. Leader Joseph Ace invites all current competitive pistol and rifle shooters to come out and join the group. Those that are interested in learning more about the competitive shooting are also encouraged to attend. The group can furnish a pistol or rifle for those that are interested in trying it for the first time. After any event or outing the group has a social focus and meets for lunch or dinner.
There are no dues to belong to the club. Email Dave Parker at [email protected] if you are interested in joining.
