Do a good deed at the blood drive. Be a part of something great. Please sign up and donate blood during the Health Fair from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. April 2 in the Carter BloodCare Mobile Donation Center in the parking lot of the Clubhouse.
Here are some important things to know about blood. Average adults have eight to 12 pints of blood in their bodies; you probably have a pint that you can spare. The red blood cells that you donate in a pint of blood are completely replaced within four weeks; the red blood cells that you donate have a shelf life of 42 days. The plasma that is part of that donation can remain viable for five days; if it is frozen it is useful for one year. That pint of blood weighs one pound.
Every year 4.5 million Americans receive a transfusion; there is always a need for donations.
Sixty percent of the population in the United States is eligible to donate blood; only five percent do. Be one of that five percent and give life to others in need.
Carter BloodCare will be handling the donation of blood here at Robson Ranch. Carter BloodCare has made it easy to sign up to donate. Just copy the following link and click on the time that you would like to make your donation: https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/63079.
If you don’t take the time to make a reservation, come by anytime during the Health Fair and make your donation. You will get a smile, a quick check of your blood pressure and temperature, a cookie and some juice and the knowledge that you have done a good deed.
If you have questions about the blood drive or have a problem making your reservation, please contact La Donna Womochel at 940-262-0182 or at [email protected].
