Frank Deardorff, Chairman
For the 15th year in a row we are bringing the Holiday Gala to the residents and guests of Robson Ranch. It began in the sales office when the access road was dirt and there were only a few residents. When the clubhouse was built, we held it there. We soon outgrew that and held it on two consecutive days. Everybody wanted the same night. So we moved to the larger ballroom at the Texas Motor Speedway, which is where this dance will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The ninth floor ballroom has a beautiful view of their light show.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your chance to wear your finest and enjoy an elegant evening of fine food, wine and dancing to Dave Tanner’s ProSession Band. New York’s Ray Bloch says they are the best dance band in the country. And last year our guests agreed.
Dinner is served buffet style so you get several choices of salads, vegetables, beef, fish and dessert. This is prepared by their New York trained chief, and the menu is selected by our own members at a tasting. We added two additional serving lines last year so we were all served within 20 minutes. Included is a glass of Chardonnay (Kendal Jackson) or Cabernet Sauvignon (Louis Martini) with a complimentary Holiday Gala glass. Of course there is a cash bar with top shelf or standard drinks.
Guests can drive themselves and have complimentary valet service or they can take a bus from the parking lot where the party begins with a flute of champagne as you board. There is a complimentary coat check provided.
To give us room to eat comfortably and to dance, we do limit seating to 320. Tickets are on sale at the clubhouse in the hallway from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning Monday, October 5 and continuing through November 13 or until we sell the 320 seats. Dinner is $65 per person, and the bus is $5 per person. So put together a table of 10, come as a single, or come as a couple, and we will combine you with others. It’s a great way to meet new people.
