Playing softball this past spring has been a challenge with May having record rainfalls, which meant cancelling games. Out of seven teams only one team played all their scheduled games, and the other six could only play what the weather would allow. The end of season “free picnic” and tournament was postponed and will be rescheduled for Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, as a preseason celebration for the beginning of the fall season. By then the parking lot and roads should be paved, and access to and from the field will be easier.
New this year is the first summer League. Games will be played every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. and will run through the end of June to mid-August. After the game everyone is encouraged to meet at the grill for lunch.
At this time approximately 40 people have signed up for this league. They have been drafted into two teams, which are managed by Fred Palmer and Paul Neal. The first game was played on June 23. Anyone wishing to play is welcome; please contact anyone on the Board or send an email to [email protected].
