Robson Ranch Softball fall season concludes

Rebecca Cole

The fall season came to an end on Wednesday, October 21, and a day later the rain began that lasted through the weekend. There was a Single Elimination Tournament held on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1. At that time there were 50 people signed up, and the draft was complete by October 27.

The first game is to be played on Saturday morning, the second on Saturday afternoon, and continue into Sunday. Free brats and hotdogs will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. The temperatures are dropping and should be comfortable for all the players and spectators, and access to the parking lot is through Robson Ranch Road.

There are many benefits being involved with the Softball Association. Volunteers are needed to umpire, to be an announcer, drive the tractor for field maintenance, operate the scoreboard and help with the banner sales. Training is provided for each of these jobs. Of course by playing softball you can regain the skills you had when you were younger, meet new friends and party after the games.

During the next few months the RRSA will be working on field maintenance, building of the scorer’s booth and putting away the sponsors’ signs for the winter.

Again, thank you to all the volunteers from umpiring, scorekeeping, scoreboard operators, announcers and sponsors.
