The January meeting was called to order, and first-time attendees were introduced. The table centerpieces were reflective of a New Year as this was the first luncheon of 2015. New members and those having a birthday in January were recognized. Our treasurer reports a bank balance of $5,202.12. Peggy Crandall announced the details about our spring trip to Gruene, Texas April 21-23. More information will follow.
Debra Rossi, a personal life coach and author, was introduced as our guest speaker. She inspired us to “embrace a new year and a new you” in 2015. Each woman in attendance received a copy of her book, Embrace the Moment.
Quote from Debra, “Acknowledge your strengths instead of picking at your flaws, expect greatness instead of failure, and be committed to a more fulfilled life. The greatest gift you can give to the world is to be your true self.”
Our outer self was demonstrated by two of our members having a complete makeover. New hair styles, clothing and makeup were given to our two volunteers, Peggy Basckes and Gayle Turman. The ladies looked fabulous after Katherine Vess from Dilliard’s and Dee Dee Bus from Captiva Salon & Spa had completed their magic. A special thanks goes to Dilliard’s store manager Karen Ptacek.
Always a special thanks goes to Althea Parent for accommodating all of our audio/visual unique requirements. The charity in attendance for this luncheon was Denton Community Food Center.
